Yey! I got a New Year present from Ate Yesha!! Aww ang cute niya talaga sis!! hehe Thanks ah!! *hugz*
Hey guys! EEPZ!! Sorry I had no chance to do a video blog! urgh, so sorry! I was capturing some videos on the eve of December 31st but sadly... I thought they didn't seem too nice.. lolz! haha Coz there were the booms and screams of fireworks and all that commotion, but let's see. I'll maybe upload it :p haha!
But I did get to do a Tumblr account!! I find the word tumblr to be unique and different even though the familiar tumbler would just mean... a container of some sorts. Who cares? It's such a weird word. Haha! Anyway I've converted this into a photoblog and I've joined the Project 365 c/o Ate Gel and I will post a pic EVERY DAY. That's the challenge right there! So guys if you want to see some action every day, Go follow/visit me there!
But wait... I have no cam.... BUZZ BUZZ BUZZ... haha Fortunately MOM AND DAD GOT ME ONE!! Whoot! OMG, grabe the first things that came true are the ones I thought most impossible to get.... Geeshh.. maybe I should put everything on my wish list as impossible....like the IRONMAN DVD WITH SPECIAL FEATURES.... haha :p
Canox IXUS 870 IS (we got the gold one! coz...la lang)
Anyway it's a CANON IXUS 870IS!! hehe We got it for a bargain (imagine, nacut-off ung price for 9000php!!) at Quiapo at Henry's Camera (advertise advertise!). Dad decided to buy a camera when he saw our neighbors HOLDING A SLR CAMERA AND BIG-ASS LENSES! So you know, male pride kicked in and he said that we should have one too. But we're not professionals yet so there, we just got this and I DON'T REGRET it! hehe The images are amazingly clear and the video too! Love love it!! hehe. I'm gonna name it Camm-y just because... I'm a bad namer :( Or goldy...
Wow, this new year had been really different for me for these reasons:
1. Big Bro wasn't here. He was off partying in Portugal... LUCKY GUY! bwahhaa but he didn't have that much to eat as I did! bwahaha!!
2. I ATE NONSTOP FOR MORE THAN A WEEK! It started on Christmas Day and it didn't stop until Jan 1. AND NOW I'M A BIG FAT ARSE... *cries and laments*
3. We hopped to relatives' place more than usual. First it was at my mom's side. And I got to bond more with my cousins there. haha! Pls check out my multiply album for rare family pics! haha :p And then we went to dad's side amidst problems with grandpa... uh.. those are more personal things. And I got to bond more with my cousins too! :p hehe.
4. We had no fireworks. As in NADA, not even lusis, the magic wand sparkling things but I was still happy. Our neighbors never cease to amaze me with their fireworks especially those at both ends of the street. grabe! You thought that they were holding a contest or something. Haha and our next door neighbor had around 5 Sintoron ni Hudas (Judas belt, you know the really LOUD ONES). Almost became deaf again that night. Too bad I was the only one excited. Mum and Dad just wanted to stay inside. I braved the smoke and noise alone.. :((
5. We went to A LOT OF PLACES ON JAN 1~! hehe Far places pa. First we visited our soon-to-be pet parrot named Gray (coz again we have nothing better to name it...)
And then off to Cainta, Rizal to check on Queenie's bros and sis
Then to Tagaytay-Batangas to EAT OUT. Grabe si mum! hehe we almost got lost noh coz the place was SUPER SECLUDED as in it was at the dead end... lolz! haha YUMMY food though! :P
No exact pic :P hehe Kaya puro Carp nalang!
Hehe well that's it. I'll be posting again soon coz... BACK TO SCHOOL ON JAN 5 and frankly, I'm REALLY NOT READY! Really... hehe :p
Oh here's something to be amazed at...HOPE HE JOINS AI! And speaking of AI... American Idol month na nga pala!! OMG!!!
There is no other alias for it, no other name for it but....
CHRISTMAS DAY!!
Yeap, it wouldn't especially be complete without CHRIST in Christmas! It's the Lord Jesus' day today and I can say that it has been a blast! Praise and thank the Lord! He has blessed us today so much..
Even though I was a bit emo yesterday. Okay, make that A LOT EMO. I was watching pa the vid here that our Literature teacher showed us. I LOVE THE SONG! Creepy, eerie and cool!!! GO BJORK!!
Björk ft. Thom Yorke - I've seen it all
I recently heard that my friend's dad and another friend's mum passed away... and mum's friend's mum also passed away and a blockmate of mine's grandpa is in a very bad condition. It kind of makes you reflect how fortunate you are. It reminds you of the REAL meaning of Christmas. To share your joys with the people you love. And it's such a hard time for my friends to be in such grief during the Christmas... I hope that they are OK..
And I hope that my brother makes the right decision... and hope that history doesn't repeat itself... this story is another discussion I'm afraid. And a gloomy one at that so I won't continue anymore and just..
GIVE OUT MY CHRISTMAS MESSAGE TO EVERYONE!! whoot!~ hahaaha Vlog #6!
Hehe and I just feel so grateful now... I recently had lunch a while ago at my mum's side and I was soo happy to see my cousins again! Especially my uncle and his family who moved from Denmark to Shanghai! haha My cuz is just so young and interesting! haha. And i was able to bond with them while playing cards, Spore and all. haha. I think I'm beginning to feel the "Big Sister" thing because I am the 3rd eldest in the clan. Well mum's side anyway and I'm feeling old and protective now. I wanna squish my little cousins!! Haha they're just soo cuute! hehe. Di kasi ako sanay maging ate, haha bunso kasi ako dito sa pamilya namin :P lolz!!
And I'VE GOT ONE OF MY WISH LIST!!! TO FIND OUT, WATCH THE VIDEO!! hehe A tribute to all those who gave me gifts, I LOVE YOU ALL ESPECIALLY MY MOTHER DEAREST!!!!! *hugz*

So much has happened as usual after not being able to post so long. I've been active as usual on plurk though, so go browse through my timeline and check out the crazy things I've done. goo here and PLURK PLURK and multiply!! haha lolz :p
Thanks guys for still visiting me!
Movie news! Well personal movie news anyway. Since I'm a Pirate-er, I've been on a downloading frenzy and downloading 5 movies at once. So far here's my already-downloaded list :
Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 Into the Wild Mean Girls Shawshank Redemption Amelie Son of Rambow Thumbelina Nightmare Before Christmas Big Fish Anne of Green Gables (tv live action, 3 episodes) Disturbia I Am Sam Step Brothers American Beauty Shakespeare in Love Silence of the Lambs The ClockWork Orange Fight Club Spirited Away Psycho (1960 version) Space Jam Chaplin Anastasia The Name Sake Love at First Bite Pathology Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind Pulp Fiction James and the Giant Peach Persepolis Saw Series (1-4) Halloween (original version) 28 Days Later Little Mermaid: Ariel's Beginning Dragon Hunters My Big Fat Greek Wedding Deat at A funeral The Women The Shining Smart People It's a Wonderful Life (a classic!) When Harry Met Sally Bride and Prejudice One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest Sabrina Memento How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days The Twilight Zone Movie Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory Princess Bride Marie Antoinette
Over 51 titles!! (not counting the individual Saw series and Anne of green Gables) And of course I plan to add more there! I'm really trying to build up a library of movies since... i'm not rich...and I can't buy DVDs like my uncle (I swear, HE HAS TONS OF DVDS, all original!! and he doesn't like to let us borrow... as in SHELVES AND SHELVES of DVDs!!) If you guys want me to burn you a CD of a movie, or if you want me to download a movie for you, I'd gladly do it! I'm also selling some DVDs here (pIrAtEd BUT DVD quality since I want the best, even if it comes cheap. Ang demanding ko noh?? lolz!) 35 a piece, or 3 for 100 :p
I'm currently downloading 5 more movies! wee, I've got a list here of movies to watch! I'm targeting but classic movies, the type that never grows old. I know that they're so hard to look for in dvds, even in pirated form. So there... I hope to get more movies! I'm also currently downloading 50 Disney movies at once, so about 37.5GB, and i've downloaded 25% of it. lOLZ! A few more months to go!! :P
Twilight! lolz I watched it 2x already but I refuse to blog about because... a lot of people already did. I'll just say that I enjoyed the movie, I love Jasper and Carlisle (uh Rob Pattinson isn't my type of Edward... sorry fangirls!!) and Alice (she was so cute right?? haha spunky!) and that Bella in the movie was BETTER! Urgh I hated Bella in the books. Sorry...
Bah, I still blogged about it. It could have been better though... the acting and all. They shouldn't be THAT low-budgeted in the next movie right? What I enjoyed in the movie were the reactions of the audience. Grabe, i laughed more at all that squealing. tsk tsk. LOLZ!! :haha
The past weeks have been hectic, really. English research paper has been constantly on my mind and there's still the Filipino one too. sighs.. hope all goes well.
My friend invited me to join her in her business venture in one of Ateneo's oganizations, AMA (Ateneo Management Association), since it was open for all (i'm not on a management course you see). I decided to give it a go since I love selling. I love to have a business (oh dear, am i on the right course? lolz!!) so i guess this would be an experience and that IT WAS! I was at tiendesitas from Friday night to Saturday (8am - 7:30pm) trying to sell and attract customers (thus I have no more voice lolz! another reason why no vlog) and we did pretty good!! Except for the christmas treest packaged chocoballs. In case anyone wants a good gift idea, pls comment and I'll contact you immediately! I'll show you all the pictures and everything :hehe . Overall it was a REWARDING experience. I've seen happy customers, grouchy passersby, uh.. lazy stall keepers (there was this stall that didn't even to look for customers. weird) and all. It was quite embarassing coz our stall seemed to be the NOISIEST of the lot since I guess we're one of the few freshmen there but who cares? We kinda sold a lot more! haha :P
Well thanks to those who went to Tiendesitas! I know I've been a bugger on plurk coz I kept on plurking that. hehe.
Well tc now guys! Next time I'll be posting my CHRISTMAS WISH LIST! I never made one before but... I think I will now. :p tc!!
Updates when I update!:cool
P.S. Notice the cold breeze that we sometimes experience now?? LOOVEE IT!! Sana pls wag uminit... wahhhzz :wah

The Loser Standing Small...
"I dont wanna talk About the things weve gone through Though its hurting me Now its history Ive played all my cards And thats what youve done too Nothing more to say No more ace to play
The winner takes it all The loser standing small Beside the victory Thats her destiny"
- "The Winner Takes It All" from ABBA
I am so LSS (last song syndrome) with this song, not because of the latest Mamma Mia movie (that was shown ages ago anyway :p) but also because I CAN ACTUALLY RELATE TO IT for two reasons.
1. Winner : My Super Sure Self Loser : Me too
After the final exams, I was already sure that I won't make it to Dean's list with a SUCKY MATH GRADE. Then the results of our overall final grades came out and our QPI. The QPI for dean's lister and all is at 3.35 and guess what my grades were?
How joyful noh?? NOT!!! I was this close... this freaking close... .02 close to becoming a DL and I didn't make it. Even though I already expected my grades to be like this, I never expected the feeling of confirmation. The feeling that your nightmares have been confirmed and strangled your dreams. I'm the loser. And frankly I don't know who the winner is. I really have to do well in Math and English now. I just feel so bad in English because I'm giving out what I think is my best but frankly my professor doesn't think so. But how come, my literature grade is BETTER?? WHY?? I mean my essays. Is it really a test of personality for the prof? Or is it my incapacity still as a student? I should be happy with these grades but I'm not. I'M PISSED. :grr :dead
NEXT SEMESTER! YOU'RE GONNA BE OWNED MATH! I WILL TAKE YA DOWN!
2. Winner : mum and dad Loser : no one in particular, me again I think
ABBA, as in THE ABBA, is coming to Manila!! :yay My parents are ABBA uber fans so they're definitely going and Mom promptly dragged me along with them. Haha! I like ABBA too but the thing is... I'm sure i'll be surrounded by folks older than my years so I'll really feel left out... Rihanna and Chris Brown are coming over too but I know I won't be able to go coz I have no one to go with and my brother isn't here. Urgh. Sighs... This is cool still though, I get to watch a concert. :yay!!
Did I tell ya that I lost my camera a month ago? My English groupmates and I were doing a video for Lit and used my camera. But alas after trekking and taking the LRT, the freaking camera is just gone... poof! Out of the bag. I thought someone was playing a trick or something but it's already over a month and it's still gone. I have no more spare cameras left because my brother brought the newest camera to Portugal. Thing is he's not even uploading pics... Shucks... this is bad... :(( Anybody got a spare camera? Or wanna sell their old one? heehee :hehe
I'm also in another predicament. My friend's debut is themed "Mad-hatter style" so we have to wear the craziest hats around! But I have absolutely zero clue on fashion. I don't know what to wear nor what hat to wear! Crap. hehe any suggestions anyone??
Urgh, I wanted to blog about something else. But these issues got the best of me. :((
Good thing I met up with my barkada a while ago!! (YES! COMPLETE AGAIN FINALLY!) We had to discuss our yearbook plans with the publisher along with other mishaps from school (ANG GULO NILLAA! especially about publishers!). We were able to clear out a couple of things but one more meeting is needed to finalize everything. Just hope everything goes as planned so they can begin printing already. Then my best friends and Jan met up with Franz and my other BFF, Chu-chu!! haha. Miss her so much! It's hard to think though... us 4 are enjoying our lives crazily during our sembreak while my other best friend is out there working on grueling homeworks. Urgh. If ya need anything Chu, am just here!! Gosh, met up with a lot of High school friends and I can't believe how I miss them so! Haha I hope our first Batch reunion pushes through this November 8! it mustt! :hehe
L-R Chu, Daynel, Joan, Me and Chair! Top (L-R) : Jan, Franz OMG... i bloated because of that darn tooth! Wahh :wah
My mother and I did our first in months SHOPPING SPREE! Whoa, ang daming binili especially gifts for *cough cough* and SHOES! hehe pics will be posted.... kung may cam na :( :wah
Well i guess this is it! :hehe
Updates when I update! :cool
EDIT** Jha gave me an award!! Aww thanks so muchh!!! It's my 2nd award so far... Can't believe this moldy old blog gets any... hehe thanks so much!!
and now for the rules!
Rules:
* Put the logo on your blog. * Add a link to the person who awarded it to you. * Link 10 other bloggers whom you wanted to share this award to. * Give a reason why you consider that person’s blog cool.
I'm going to break the rules for a bit coz I'm tagging everyone who hasn't received this yet because I believe that every blogger is cool in their own right! I mean we're all cool, we're unique, we're fun!! SO GO PEEPZ! hehe :p =) :yay
Foreign nut (n.) - 1. A person who's a fanatic or who's starting to become a fanatic of other cultures. Absorbs them bit by bit or nut by nut 2. Other meaning is simply a nut you've never heard of 3. A crazy foreigner :bleh
I'm starting to like inventing words. Or at least give meaning to some. Now I've become a foreign nut. While running on the treadmill last Monday, I was watching a documentary featuring South Korean films and their directors and all I can say is... they're all mind-blowing! I'm not talking about romantic comedies we're all used to because of telenovelas but there are actually good and maybe even oscar-worthy about these films. Some even encompass the usual North American films and some are like it (Matrix! there's like this Matrix korean film thingy) but what makes these films look more interesting is because of their particular culture. You can see their traditions and their views about life. And how they're being broken.
The magnitude of how America has influenced the world is so great. Now after watching The Namesake and Persepolis, both foreign films, I saw that it's not only the Philippines that has been into this "American thing". Even Indians or French Iranians (watch Persepolis! One of my favorite animation films now!) are influenced into listening this punk rock thing, eating Burgers, partying and all American. I thought that only Filipinos are the uber crazy about Americans but now I now am wrong. There are also as many Filipinos as there are Indians (well i think) in America and they too are suffering the same fate. Should they still follow arranged marriages? Should they only marry their same kind? How about Iranians? They have it worse because of the super strict government they have and the recent wars they're experiencing, it's hard to express their freedom now. Teens are actually being forced by families to leave Iran for their sake and future. But the thing is.. I think Filipinos are still more Americanized. lolz. Just watch these films and you be the judge.
The NameSake features the struggle of one Indian family has to go through living in America. These struggle focuses on finding their own identity especially the children's (Kal Penn and the girl). Despite this being a boring premise, the film actually tugs your heartstrings because you really feel the emotions of each of the member of the family as they take you through the times of the parents up to their children's. And there are lots of humorous scenes too especially watching this Indian tradition of ladies flicking their tongues and saying "Whoo whoo!" during a marriage ceremony. I know it's supposed to be serious but I can't help but laugh! Watch it guys! Torrent it. Rent it or something.
Now Persepolis, go buy it!! (or torrent it like me) This is how much I recommend this littel animation feature! Running only at 1 hr and 30 minutes, this film is packed with insanely fun humor and a LOT of political views especially in the first few minutes of the film. It is needed because of the reality of Iran. They can't help but be political. I was a bit apprehensive about this film though. Sure it's got an Oscar nod for best foreign (wait, was it foreign film???) but come on, 99% of the time, the film is in black and white! The drawing's plain, nothing exactly significant in that department but the story is the focus here. Not the drawing but the story. And a little peculiar quirk about this film is that the dialogue is in French but it's talking about Iran. Now I don't know how to categorize it. Maybe it's still a french film. This story is about the tale of an Iranian girl and we see her go through life in Iran as she progresses to become the Iranian woman. I swear, I explain the film so badly but this film is a gem! It cracked me up loads of times and the story is.. so... true. It's so true that it's funny already. GO WATCH! :yay
In other news... THERE IS ACTUALLY A BRAND NEW LINE OF MACBOOKS AND MACBOOK PROS! I can't believe the shock I got when Apple e-mailed me that there is already a new line! And to think I just recently got a Macbook Pro :wat @_@. :dead but I am so thankful that Apple only focused on the aesthetics and not the functionality in their improvements. They changed the design, added a few more graphic cards or something to enhance the graphics and voila! That's it. Well that's what I think anyway. Head over to Apple for more details. Sighs... technology these days.. you never know how to keep up. Please don't be like fashion! :wah
I've finally posted more pics at Multiply! I forgot to blog about St. Francis of Assisi's feast day/National Pet Day! There was this pet blessing held in Eastwood City and my mum decided to go!! Haha it was fun seeing the pets and also their pet owners. There are actually a lot of owners who SPOIL their doggies. *they put them in strollers! like kids!* We brought Pawpi, Toto, Rocky and Coco! hehe.
I just had my SECOND molar extraction and I can tell ya that IT HURTS MORE than the first one here in this entry. URGH! More icepacks please! And what's worse is it's hard to swallow now and I'm getting coughs. sighs.. I just hope that the pain will end tomorrow. PLEASE! Now I look like some tomato coz of this blown up face of mine. Sighs... it looks like I've got the mumps. :wah
Faffle (n./v.) - in Tiffspeak means hello for good mornings. A 'hey yo' only in times of morning (12am - 11am). When used outside of time frame, it is disregarded as nonsensical blabberings of a lunetic.
Faffle everyone (if it's morning there, then HELLO! otherwise, just consider me on my usual crazy self)!!:hihi See what boredom can do to you? You invent words. To amuse yourself, you actually give crazy advices to people such as imitating a jet lag person so that they can experience the feeling of being "traveled" (right Roberpo?). It's only day 5 of sembreak (whoot one month of NOTHING to do!!) and I'm already going bonkers. Operation sembreak is now in session and I am officially burning 100-300 calories a day! I hope a month of exercise and acitivity is gonna do me good! Hhehee =) But I have 3 parties this month... crap....
Rainy season is here and it's not yet cold enough. :wah Where's the icy/breezy wind? All I feel is the humidity of the dang rains and makes me want to sweat more. Ugh. And you know what? The depressing atmosphere actually reflects the devastating situation of the global economic crisis the WORLD is experiencing. Stocks are going down, value of money is going down and everything is just DOWN. I can't read the front page of the newspaper anymore because I'll just grumble and say "Oh now what.." Sighs.. and to top it all, I now can't eat chocolates without thinking... "May melamine ba ito?" ("Is there melamine in this?") :grrr
I know that everyone is tired of talking about it, but we can't stop from talking about it because how else would we solve something without tackling anything? My uncle who's really into economics (maybe that's why he's so rich now...) shared some tidbits with my mother and I would like to share it now with you guys
"Times are really hard and will even be harder in the next 12 months. My job here is reading and monitoring all the gloomy forecasts and assessing the global inherent/emerging risks in Maersk. The current global financial crisis is really very bad. There will be more uncertainties in the next 12 months. All industries are affected! One of the highest risk is actually on CONTRACTUAL PARTIES and OBLIGATIONS. We will see business contracts being cancelled, customers and suppliers going bankrupt or simply running out of liquidity, more banks going bust. There will be very limited cashflow in markets. Cost of borrowing will go up. Financial institutions will restrict lending to each other. Applying for future loans will be more complicated than ever with more collaterals and background checks required. In short keep an eye on your cashflow and accts receivables. Limit your credit exposure to customers. Cut down on un-necessary spendings.
Metrobank and BDO are the 2 hardest hit from the collapse of Lehman Brothers in MNL. Avoid gambling in stocks. Enter stock market only by end 2009 when things have settled down. There will be a lot of goose chase in the coming months investigating what we really went wrong and how it can be avoided in future. All these will be exercise in futility as they will never get to the bottom of all these. The world economy has enjoyed so much wealth flowing during the last 10 years, with its peak in 2006. There was so much speculations and hedging on many things -- real estate, commodity prices -- causing inflation to surge. Many companies simply fogot to exercise proper Risk Management, abused Governance, lacked Transparency and did not do full Disclosures on their financial state. In short we now learn that there are too many irresponsible corporations around the world and greedy middlemen in between trades and business.
People will have to go back to basic. Agriculture and food industry will remain robust. Population will continue to grow, people need to eat, people need to survive. Be on the look out for alternative investments or business ventures in agriculture - be it on fishery, poultry or farming. Of course, this will demand different risks on pests, health and safety standards but all these risks are controllable. Imports from made in China has taken a toll and there's no more confidence on chinese food products. Avoid engaging in commodity trades for the next 2 yrs - incl. dairy, gold, oil, etc. Commodity prices are quite unstable and global tariff and tax regulations will only be more complex in the next 5 yrs. So much focus are being put on regulatory compliance (tax, labour, health, safety, security and environment) globally. Governments backing up banking institutions will have to replenish cash thru collections of newer/higher taxes.
If you have excess cash, hang on to it. Cash is king. Spread out your savings in different banks. Take note of PDIC's bank guarantees. Stay on top of current events. Discuss the current global crisis at home, engage your kids in the dialogue. Make them understand what is going on. Do not underestimate their wisdom and innocence in economics."
-Uncle Ramon
Now I know I wouldn't be able to purchase any cameras out there soon... Crap. And i just lost mine *thankfully it's the old one* but who cares, this is more important. So I'm back to helping my parents and looking for pay-per-post. Smorty and Blogsvertise have both stopped sending me campaigns. Due to inactivity maybe or something...But I'm trying to win them back! I got to save up!
I'm going to experience incredible pain again this Thursday... Molar extraction Part 2 is coming up! Nuts I tell ya. I just really hope that all this hulabaloo is enough for my teeth problem. Sighs. :dead
Anyway, am having fun this sembreak depsite everything. More moves = more fun. More time to spend with friends too! I had so much with Jinny and Chair a while ago playing badminton! Love it!!

My Grandpa Sees Saddam Hussein
...supposedly at their third floor apartment. My guakong (maternal grandpa) is already 85 years old and he is probably suffering this onset Alzheimer's disease. I'm not sure if it is but he is starting to forget some people's names and he claims that he can see his mother (who has been dead for x years already) and other visitors inside the house like the aforementioned Saddam Hussein. I really like my guakong because unlike my other grandparents, he speaks tagalog and english more frequently and is probably the nicest grandpa in the block (hard to say for my angkong, paternal grandfather). He's also open to a lot of opinions and treats us grandkiddies very well. I just saw him you see, a while ago and it hurts me to see the state that he's in. His right leg is inflamed (WHOLE right leg down to right foot) because of a blocked nerve and he has lost his left eyesight. And his spine is bending like a hunchback's now... Wahh.. wish I'd get to know him earlier, it's not like he's leaving us anytime soon. It just reminds me that he could be gone soon... Wahh... I'd rather not think about it now.
I attended 2 parties last Friday and Saturday, ergo no recent blog entries (sorry guys!). The first one was my mum's See kim ma's (mom's aunt) 80th birthday! It was really bongacious because it's been in the tradition of Chinese (rich usually, them NOT US) to throw parties at certain ages such as 4, 16, 18, etc (i think...) and finally 80. Everything was literally overshadowed by the color red (red symbolizes luck and happiness) and yellow! The whole room was so goshdarn red that I was really really happy (come on red is my fave color! heehe) It was nice to see SeeKim very very energetic. You know that her family has it made when you see that they invited head teachers, monks (YES THERE WERE MONKS! lolz!) and 500 other friends and families. Grandchildren are also traditionally asked/forced to do a presentation and lolz, I couldn't help be amused at the numbers they did! Imagine playing and bellydancing to Bebot, Glamorous and Give me more at your grandma's 80th birthday and in the presence of 60+ year old people! lolz! It was really a funny sight. I guess i was also in a good mood because my second cousin didn't sing as good as I sung back in January (for some reason, she also sang the same song). I'm not being to proud or anything.. but my mom confirmed the fact and I was happy =) hehe
Another amusing thing that happened that night was the likeness of my little 5 year old cousin and I! hehe. We wore the same headband on the same day! Same blue sequined headband, just that hers was definitely smaller. We really looked like sisters (she does look like me a little) and I thought it was really cute! lolz, haha. My aunt says that she's doing really well, i mean the little tot is already the top of her batch in her first year of kinder! And you know what? She's studying piano, ballet, gymnastics, voice lessons and who knows what at this early age! Maybe she's gonna be a genius, i hope she is! And she doesn't look like a geek mind you. She's really sweet. My aunt also told me about her sweet friendship with her bestfriend. I mean it was my little cousin who sort of "rescued" that little girl from loneliness on the first day of school and they never parted ways since. She sent flowers to her, could you believe it? Sighs... hope their friendships last.. I know the feeling of losing childhood friends... :(
Here's a pic of her when she was 3! hehe Watcha think? Rianna's her name =) *posting pic later*
My bro hasn't contacted us for 5 days. URGHH! He must give us updates! lolz, I feel like my mum's still sort of caging my bro because of skype but now that he's got roomates (his roomie is part of THE team USA track and field!) and school, I guess contacting him won't be easy anymore... oh well...
Steppy's got her arm in a sling... hope she's OK now. Urgh, car doors suck! hehe
Well I think i'll stop for a while. Urgh, have to go study. HELL WEEK THIS WEEK! eeep!!
Updates when I update! :cool
Oh, random video about the Great Sticky Note Experiment!
Angela just gave me an award! Wow, I haven't had an award for years... thanks dude! Thanks really much! *hugz*
And this is

My brother's going away this Saturday. Away = away for 6 months in Lisbon, Portugal to "study". OF COURSE HE WON'T BE JUST STUDYING! I can't believe that he's finally going to my dream continent (haha sorry Asia...) and to Lisbon. The beaches there are fabulous right? He'll be able to capture our heritage (my father says I'm part portugese coz great great great grandad was one. I don't know if it's true) and experience their culture firsthand. He'll be able to meet and talk to great people, eat great foods and see great sights. The lucky guy! And the best thing about going to Portugal is the chance of roadtripping to other parts of Europe. Oh well, good luck to him then. Sad to say, I'm gonna miss that sucker too, I mean 6 months is a long time and I have no one to bother in the house. EEEPP. For the meantime, I'll just stare at these pics.
Anyway, I'm in a very download mood! Maybe it's because I just recently debated the pro side of piracy and I have been itching to catch the movies I wanted to watch but I didn't get the chance to because a) the movie wasn't distributed in the Phils b) it's a classic and I can't find a DVD anywhere, fake or not c) I really wanna watch/read/rewatch/reread it now!
So far I've downloaded a total of 6 movies! Thumbelina (aww it's a classic and I can't find it anywhere!), Amelie(really wanted to watch this, didn't get the chance last time), The Nightmare Before Christmas(another classic that I sorely miss), Into the Wild(haven't watched yet but downloaded already, really good they say), Son of Rambo(really good one too!), Mean Girls(finally watched it! and it is good as they say), Anne of Green Gables series(there's a mini series! I can't believe it!). I've even expanded my download files with comic books and mangas! Comic books are really expensive and I just didn't want to fork out that much so I download them instead. Watchmen and Fables are going into my files. Will read them when I have the time now. hehe
I've found something VERY INTERESTING courtesy of Slashfilm. Somebody actually BUILT a real hobbit house! Take a look!
Adorable isn't it? The owner apparantly is an exteme environmentalist and decided to take a step further in helping Mother Nature by actually building an eco-friendly house.
Get these cool features!
Fridge is cooled by air coming underground through foundations
Skylight in roof lets in natural feeling light
Solar panels for lighting, music and computing
Water by gravity from nearby spring
Compost toilet
Roof water collects in pond for garden etc.
The interior is absolutely beautiful. I suggest you go to this site and read more about it and view more images. Someday, I might actually consider living in a house like this. Or even for a vacation home. What do you guys think??
These were all my reactions to the opening of Beijing Olympics 2008. I missed the first 10 minutes of the show but I didn't care because I was already BLOWN AWAY by the lights, choreography, sounds and the intensity of all these elements harmonizing with each other. OMG, I have never seen anything like it. I even have no idea how to describe some performances because, I honestly have never see anything...as beautiful or intricate or complicated or aesthetic as what director Zhang Yimou has choreographed. Honestly, you have to watch it to believe it. Unfortunately, all the Youtube videos about the Beijing Olympics opening have been removed so I can't show you any clips... sobs.. I'll try to find some videos though.
The performance depicted the thousands year old history of China, highlighting the 4 greatest inventions of China. 2008 musicians and 25000 performers graced the arena through dancing, acrobating, singing, etc with spectacular pyrotechnics (OMG GRABE UNG FIREWORKS!! WHOA SUPERB!) Here are some pics
These pictures I say do NOT do justice as to how beautiful it looked. I say, catch a replay and WATCH it. Swear, your 2 hour watch wouldn't be wasted. I have never been more proud in my life to be a Chinese. China has delivered an astounding performance and the next Olympics host will have to work their arses off to be as good or to surpass what China did today. I feel like China practically shoved in US's faces the power of China's economy now. Man, I wish I were there at Beijing. This experience would have been surreal. Timm's mom must have been so HAPPY! urgh!! =)
我是中國人!
Yey! I can finally type chinese characters here! Thanks to Apple! Now I gotta watch the games... yey!
Is this a song? wee... Anyway, I can't believe I actually finished one of my goals in life :
DRIVING A SHIFTSTICK!
Before learning the fun and art of driving, I was always afraid to try it out. I mean, my mom has been nagging me to drive since last year because she wanted another "driver" so that she can go out without hearing my father utter some grumbling words or the protests from my brother. I was the next choice left and I was also her partner-in-crime in shopping anyways so it's a good deal for us both lakwatseras. But I was the one who didn't want to drive. Since my bro got hit by a 40-footer truck, I've been wary and very afraid of crazy drivers who aren't Speed Racers but still trying to be. I'm afraid of crossing intersections for fear of being crushed. But last week, my father suddenly told me, "Go sign this form, you're going to get your student's permit." And I was like...." I WILL???" Lolz, he then told me that I'd start last Monday. I couldn't believe my ears, I was finally going to the pit of DOOM.
So came Monday and I woke up at the ungodly hour of 6am (hey, it's not right for summer!) and did my morning ritual (the usuals, take a bath, eat something and stuff) and waited for the instructor to come pass by our house since the Socialites driving school was only a minute away from our house ON FOOT. 7am passed....and i was still waiting. 7:30 passed by too and still he wasn't here yet! Finally, we heard the roar of his engine at 8am. Apparantly he didn't know that we scheduled an appointment at 7am. Man, what kind of management do they have there? Anyway, we started with the basics of turning on the car, going forward, going backwards. I was getting the hang of it except I still have to measure the amount of gas I press. Then it was time to really hit the road! I thought that they had a field or something for practice, but our instructor told me that the road was their field! SHOKE! I was so frightened when I finally rounded up the corner because of the fear I told you about. I didn't even wanna turn the wheel! But I was egged on by my father anyway and I did it.....AND LIVED TO TELL THE TALE!!
Anyway, it's been 5 days hence. I have already driven along Quezon Ave, Sgt. Rivera, N. Domingo, and of course the famous EDSA! Grabe ang traffic doon! lolz, it was an achievement for me because after only 7 hours of driving school, I was able to go to EDSA and go up along 3 bridges WITH TRAFFIC. Now I can proudly say that I am a 50% accomplished driver. I'm still a beginner and I have to steer better. I always am either too close to the right or left. And grabe the clutch still have to practice it. haha!
My birthday's coming in a week, and I'm gonna have a pre-birthday bash with my friends at Dusit Hotel tomorrow! My treat =) Overnight and swimming and EATING= LOADS LOADS OF FUUNN! woooo!
I'm really starting to sound so much like a glutton...hopefully college will stress me out enough to lose a few pounds! lolz
Oh yeah, speaking of college, I'm now finally in BS Computer Science. I shifted from Management honors to Computer Science last April and it was only until now that they said I was accepted. First they said I was denied, ngayon naman accepted, haay talaga. Pero sure, am in CS already. I'm just so apprehensive though, am I making the right decision? Good thing my uncle e-mailed a few golden words to me, I did the right thing and I can even double major BS MGT for more business opportunities here and abroad. All I can say is, THANK YOU!!! I needed that support and to know I did the right thing. Wish me luck in the future guys! I guess I'll be learning Comp speak now. lolz!! =)
Oh, pls do scroll down and read my technilicious post! haha, it's really an upbeat one. hehehe Gotta go now! hehe
I have already posted this review on my multiply but I wanna share it too with other non-multipliers (lolz, that was a weird word) I figured that this blog needs spicening up and I'm trying to find specific things to do with it like do a bunch of reviews or something. I was inspired by yet again another Filipino blogger who left his day job and started blogging full time. I wanna leave a legacy on the net too, if just little by little. So here's my review of Speed Racer!!
I love all kinds of anime, animes about cooking, fantasy, blah blah but there was this particular cartoon which didn't catch my interest. It was speed racer. Sure I caught glimpses on cartoon network of a racer and a monkey but I never bothered to stay on the channel. So when it was going to be adapted for a live-action movie, I didn't know what the buzz was about and why it even deserved to be made into a movie. And when finally may 8 came, I just had this excitement to watch the movie. My mummy wanted to watch it too so there it was settled. We were going to watch speed racer.
Here's a synopsis from imdb.com for those who are not familiar with Speed Racer. "Hurtling down the track, careening around, over and through the competition, Speed Racer is a natural behind the wheel. Born to race cars, Speed is aggressive, instinctive and, most of all, fearless. His only real competition is the memory of the brother he idolized-the legendary Rex Racer - whose death in a race has left behind a legacy that Speed is driven to fulfill. Speed is loyal to the family racing business, led by his father, Pops Racer, the designer of Speed's thundering Mach 5. When Speed turns down a lucrative and tempting offer from Royalton Industries, he not only infuriates the company's maniacal owner but uncovers a terrible secret-some of the biggest races are being fixed by a handful of ruthless moguls who manipulate the top drivers to boost profits. If Speed won't drive for Royalton, Royalton will see to it that the Mach 5 never crosses another finish line. The only way for Speed to save his family's business and the sport he loves is to beat Royalton at his own game. With the support of his family and his loyal girlfriend, Trixie, Speed teams with his one-time rival-the mysterious Racer X - to win the race that had taken his brother's life: the death-defying, cross-country rally known as The Crucible."
The trailer itself was already overloaded with bright and neon colors and I thought that it was going to be painful to watch. And it was. My family wasn't able to catch the first 10 minutes of the movie so when I stepped inside the theatre, we were already in the middle of a very confusing race and at the same time, there was story telling involved. It felt very confusing because a lot of things were going on at once at the speed the Mach 5 was in. This could probably be the cause of us being late, I don't know. So next time i really won't be late!!! So anyways, as the movie progressed, I finally caught on with the story. Mind you, I am a person who has no background regarding speed racer as in NULL, so despite this movie being a willy wonka racing version, I actually understood the movie.
This is definitely not a spiderman movie or what, but what made me give it a 4 star was because, it had an understandable storytelling for me. The brothers-directors did a good job of it. And I do love the RACES! I know rottentomatoes gave it only a 35%, deeming it rotten, and some critics HATED the races, but i disagree. I LOVED IT! Especially the grand prix! I mean, this movie is actually entertaining. Sprite and the Chimp were hilarious without being over the top. Pops was good. Though Christina Ricci was disturbing for me... but still, it was a good movie! And plus, after seeing this movie, i am practically sure that all the kids would scream, "Mommy, i wanna be a racer too!". I know I did =) hehe.
So it's a silly kaleidoscope colors of a movie but what an enjoyable movie!
Wow, I didn't realize that I've been on weeks' hiatus now. I don't know if maybe I've just lost the passion to write or the ability to blog interestingly and now forced to think that I suck at this job. Hahaa! I mean look, even my blog URL has now been erased in my firefox history and isn't even on one of my saved pages anymore. what the heck? But i am once again influenced to continue due to Stephie's newly revived blog!! OMG IT'S REVAMPED! Check it out!
Scribefire looks so much better now and there are more features! yeahh! hehee I can now post youtube videos and flickr photos but what I noticed is that all my pages are saved as drafts even if I leave the checkbox unchecked. Is it just me or is there a bug in scribefire? Oh well I'll still write using scribefire and just check using blogger. The good thing about scribefire is that they save whatever you write. Yep, IT ACTUALLY SAVES which is a good thing for me, the blogger who has the tendency to erase posts. I'm just unlucky. Or maybe I shouldn't say that or else I'll get even unluckier. Oh well.. I'm talking to myself again.
So it's summer, May to be precise and what have I done? Have i found a job that has willingly taken me in that allows minimum-pay wage? Have I learned how to drive the streets car? Have I beaten my bro at something? ALL NO!!
NO!!!!
NO!!!
*sighs dramatically* (yeah am a drama queen, go figure)
I tell ya what I've been doing. I've been going to RCBC tower, makati (ooh cool!) to rehearse with my co-AYF NDAs (alfonso yuchengco foundation national discipline awardees! - what a mouthful!) for our broadway production of sorts EVERY SINGLE DAY LAST APRIL (either 10-6 or 1-6). Well mostly M-T-W-TH-F-S. I did absent myself twice though. and some days if Kuya Herbie was happy or because of an accident, we'll have a day off so technically it wasn't every single day. When I first learned that I was a national discipline awardee, I just thought that it was just an award that Ms. Bagsic suggested that I join so that I'd have a medal or something. I didn't expect commitments or life-changing situations. Before we became awardees, we were asked to write the usual essay of "How, as an NDa, will I be able to change the world?" Well I just wrote something about Singaporean prime minister, Lee Kuan Yew, and learning to change yourself first before you may change the world and all that crap stuff. So when I was chosen, I didn't expect that I'd get in an organization that really changes lives. Ironic isn't it? Well it's irony for me anyway. And to think that in other schools, it was either the valedictorian or SCCB president who gets this award and that some even fight for this because of the ahem... cash award (7.5 dude!! 7.5!!) I thought that it was really cool!
But of course, the 7.5k was depleted because of gas, food and stuff you needed when you go to Makati everyday and you live an hour away from the place. What made this experience very special was the people. The peepz made it happen. The peepz made this summer one of the most memorable and unforgettable event of my life. I mean look, praying wouldn't be the same anymore (right guys?) and I would always look for one of Marck's crazy adventures, or my adopted daughter's high-pitched voice (but who has A BOOMING SINGING VOICE!). Life would go on but some things wouldn't be the same anymore. I look at a giraffe and I would go - HEY TRIXIE! or something. This summer will be full of nostalgic memories, and I hope that I'd be able to go to our outing this Sat. Due to unfortunate circumstances (__rents. you gets?), i'm not sure if i'll be able to go. Darn! So guys, I just wanna say thank you. Thank you!!!!!!! *hugz*

April's also a month of debuts, a month of watsalaks and you can all check them out of multiply! I'm just so glad that I'm able to catch up with my bestest buds Daynel, Chu, Bobs and Chair while the sun hasn't set yet. I can proudly say that I've been to all of their homes and that we've done a lot of things together as a barkada na! Heehee over night uli!! lolz, mum will kill me!!!
Another awaited event for me last April was our EK escapade which was organized by Franz and attended by me, Jin, Daynel, Matt, Chu and Lourdie! That event was a series of Pacheese-burger commercials which they have so pleasantly enlightened me on the idea why everyone was so crazied about it. I mean, PACHEESE BURGER NAMAN KAYO OH! haaha lolz! Anyway, aside from getting extremely WET from the rapids and log jam, I had a splendid time! I missed you all my SJ friends and I long for the Baguio trip that we'll be having in 2 years time! (FRANZ AH!! SABI MU!!! heehee)
ayan kami!!! heehee RED NA RED!
Movies and series of course, rain or shine, will always be inside my heart home so I've been acting couch potato after practices (no wonder I didn't get thin despite all the buckets of sweat) and watching shows like
Ugly Betty season 2!
House season 4!
Pushing Daisies! LOVE IT!!
Disney movies (I GOT THEM AT A BARGAIN! ORIG AT 150PHP! hehe)
IRONMAN!!
and more! I've got a lot of movies here at home pa and there are some that I want to watch but haven't had (or no dvd!) yet like Pathology! US summer movies have officially kicked in and I can't wait to watch them all! Ironman WAS FREAKING GREAT! I mean greater than spidey 2 and 3 but i think batman begins still kicked ass but still, IRONMAN WAS DA BOMB! I was able to watch it 2x and it's just the 4th day! Addict ain't I? Sure there were some cheesy lines and predictable moments but at least there was no whiny heroine, no lunatic screaming madmen, and whatnot, but the greatest thing about the movie was IT HAD SUBSTANCE AND PLOT. You got it, even though you aren't a comic book fan. You just got it. lolz. and Robert Downy Jr. is the perfect Tony Starks. Just go watch it and you'll know what i mean. The movie even distracted me from my aching feet (oh i forgot to tell you guys the story of how my brother, chair and I walked all the way from rcbc tower to powerplant. well it was april 30, and the whole family wanted to watch it. since my bro and chair watched my performance and we were done at 5-6, mum told us to go ahead to powerplant and hitch a taxi. unfortunately... no taxis were available and we just walked it off. 45 minutes of nonstop walking in polluted was NOT invigorating i tell ya. it's actually dusty and smoky. we even had to pass by a red light district! i never thought that I'd be so happy to see powerplant!!)
I'll be getting a molar extraction surgery tomorrow and I'm scared. I'm supposed to be helping with the JLTC but I can't. I won't be able to go to the Chimes meeting tomorrow too. Oh what a tooth extraction can do! IT CAN KILL A PERSON'S APPETITE. But it can make me thinner? LOLZ! Aneroxia here i come! heehee. so there i'm scared. And Stephie narrated to me the ordeal she has gone through.... OH WHEN WILL IT END?? Lord help....
Tita Rose has been learning how to do nail art designs (you know like the ones here
from a Korean woman who does these seminars for free. My mum was the first model for the whole nail thing but unfortunately Happy our shih tzu gave birth yesterday (3 puppies!) so she couldn't go yesterday. I took her place and now look, 3 of my fingers have nail extensions! There's no art yet, but I can't wait till next tuesday! or wednesday? That's the next session! haha! It is harder to type though... hehee
lookie at the last 3 fingers! last 2 is the whole nail thing, third one is the extension! hehe. looks real nh?
I think I'll be able to blog again. Or not. No guarantee! But in the meantime, catch my pics on my multiply!! www.jynxedpanda.multiply.com! GO VISIT! =)
and btw, CONGRATS TO MUMMY SCARTYY! I know that this is soo belated but let's congratulate the mommy for bringing another cute child into this world last April!! weee!!

I decided I'd make a history for my site so that you'd all know the whys and the hows. I will elaborate further when I have my REAL site one day. So when did this "addiction" start? Well it was many years ago (maybe not THAT many, about 2-3 years ago) when my keypal Kelli (HI KELLI!) told me to check out this thing. It turned out to be a xanga blog and I was intrigued but I wasn't interested in making one. After a year though, exactly on October 29, 2004, I came across Kelli's blog again and had a sudden itch to try it out. I signed up in xanga and wrote my very first entry. My URL was http://xanga.com/jynxypanda and it's still alive! Check it out if you want, I've transformed it into a photoblog of some sort. I started out with this PLAIN red and black template and of course, I eventually got bored with it. I then searched for skins both in createblog and blogskins. I was happy with xanga but then I saw Steph's new blog in blogger. I was amazed at her skills already in making layouts and HTML so I asked tips from her and then I started my blogger account. This was the time I started getting interested in HTML. Steph also referred to me Lissaexplains.com for tutorials and I researched on my own by reading this gigantic HTML manual at our house. I learned the basics and soon I was editing layouts. I wasn't much of a layout changer so Thief's Stolen Collections survived with only 2 premade layouts. Soon, I was getting BORED with premade layouts. I decided to practice my photoshop skills and make my own like Steph. At first, my layout was supposed to be a panda under cherry blossoms on a starry night EXCEPT the background image I used was copyrighted to kagaya.com only hence I wasn't able to use it. It was a beautiful layout for me though because I loved the violet colors and the panda. It took me a VERY LONG time to finish it but all my efforts proved to be in vain. The spark of making a layout vanished and was just recently revived. I was determined to make one and Winnie the Pooh came to my mind. Why Winnie the Pooh? I have no idea. Maybe it was because of him being a bear but anyways, Winnie the Pooh sounded good and voila!
PAST LAYOUTS
POOH'S PARADISE V.1
Born on: June 26, 2005
Well this was my very 1st layout so pardon for the childish image. It took me a very long time to think of what image to use. Winnie the Pooh just suddenly came to my mind and before I knew it, my hands were working on their own and this is the result! It lasted me for 5 months and I'm happy. =)
STARING UNDER THE SKY
Born on: Dec. 27, 2005
This is my 2nd layout featuring a vectorized (my first vector! Not too good..) bird (i'm not sure the species) on a branch staring under the velvet (violet) sky. When I was thinking of a new layout, I wanted it to have a touch of Christmas but not in the commercial way (gifts, lights etc). I wanted to show the true meaning of Christmas and I also wanted a layout that would last me for months (I'm a lazy bum.. hehe). Inspiration struck when our English teacher asked us to make a Korean Sijo (in English that is) and what i wrote about was a bird anticipating the birth of Christ. Though Christmas has gone, I still wish the feeling of Christmas will continue the whole year. This lasted me for a month (oMG 1 month lang?) but I may use it again. I really liked it! hehe
PINKISH BEAR REALITY

:cool

Love it!!

...supposedly at their third floor apartment.
*hugz*

GO VISIT! =)

Born on: April 3, 2006 Panda Basking Under the Sun After posting on April 1, 2006 about Global Warming, inspiration struck and I initially thought of making a layout with pandas and polar bears. But I didn't know how to put them together so I just chose to do the Panda. Besides, it's summer so why not let my Panda go on a summer vacation? This layout hopefully gives you the image odf basking under the sun on the beach. Or somewhere tropical. This layout is very dear to me because it features my Panda! =) heehe Well hope you guys like it! =)
