Angela just gave me an award! Wow, I haven't had an award for years... thanks dude! Thanks really much! *hugz*

Now I'd like ter nominate these fantabulous BRILLIANTE blogs:
My brother's going away this Saturday. Away = away for 6 months in Lisbon, Portugal to "study". OF COURSE HE WON'T BE JUST STUDYING! I can't believe that he's finally going to my dream continent (haha sorry Asia...) and to Lisbon. The beaches there are fabulous right? He'll be able to capture our heritage (my father says I'm part portugese coz great great great grandad was one. I don't know if it's true) and experience their culture firsthand. He'll be able to meet and talk to great people, eat great foods and see great sights. The lucky guy! And the best thing about going to Portugal is the chance of roadtripping to other parts of Europe. Oh well, good luck to him then. Sad to say, I'm gonna miss that sucker too, I mean 6 months is a long time and I have no one to bother in the house. EEEPP. For the meantime, I'll just stare at these pics.
Anyway, I'm in a very download mood! Maybe it's because I just recently debated the pro side of piracy and I have been itching to catch the movies I wanted to watch but I didn't get the chance to because a) the movie wasn't distributed in the Phils b) it's a classic and I can't find a DVD anywhere, fake or not c) I really wanna watch/read/rewatch/reread it now!
So far I've downloaded a total of 6 movies! Thumbelina (aww it's a classic and I can't find it anywhere!), Amelie(really wanted to watch this, didn't get the chance last time), The Nightmare Before Christmas(another classic that I sorely miss), Into the Wild(haven't watched yet but downloaded already, really good they say), Son of Rambo(really good one too!), Mean Girls(finally watched it! and it is good as they say), Anne of Green Gables series(there's a mini series! I can't believe it!). I've even expanded my download files with comic books and mangas! Comic books are really expensive and I just didn't want to fork out that much so I download them instead. Watchmen and Fables are going into my files. Will read them when I have the time now. hehe
I've found something VERY INTERESTING courtesy of Slashfilm. Somebody actually BUILT a real hobbit house! Take a look!
Adorable isn't it? The owner apparantly is an exteme environmentalist and decided to take a step further in helping Mother Nature by actually building an eco-friendly house.
Get these cool features!
Fridge is cooled by air coming underground through foundations
Skylight in roof lets in natural feeling light
Solar panels for lighting, music and computing
Water by gravity from nearby spring
Compost toilet
Roof water collects in pond for garden etc.
The interior is absolutely beautiful. I suggest you go to this site and read more about it and view more images. Someday, I might actually consider living in a house like this. Or even for a vacation home. What do you guys think??
I'm in the mood to blog! Maybe it's because i have become immune to the aftershock of math failures, yucky english grades and college in general, I decided to do something mundane again and blog. Some English classes were actually required to blog to improve their writing skills. They say that if you at least blog frequently, you would be able to check up on your grammar, create new ideas and whatnot, but I don't think that after 5 years of blogging, my grammar has improved at all. It's just a place for me to vent, inform and talk to you guys. You being you readers and non-readers. My blog isn't actually popular unlike Ate Kitty's, I'm just a regular ugh teen trying to not be ugh.
My mother has unearthed this ancient (exaggeration obviously) organ at my Angkong's (grandfather) house but it needs repairing. I was so excited because I've been itching to play piano again, to press the keys and produce melodies, sighs. My childhood's coming back (or i never left it in the first place) and I even bought this teach yourself to piano CD. Don't worry it's fake, so I don't think I lost anything. Must get that organ fixed!!
I finally have 5 more movie blogs to watch out for. Aside from my resident fave blog, TheMovieBlog, I now have my other faves, slashfilm, firstshowing, cinnematical, in contention and filmjunkblog. I find that slashfilm is like theMovieblog so I simply love their opinions. Firstshowing offers a load of movie news and i think they usually get the first bits in the movie news and cinematical too. Sighs.... Yey for more movie sources!! And guess what I found..
*movie news got from the aforementioned sites
As a proclaimed Harry potter fan, I've been following ther books (have always read them on the first day of release during QUARTER EXAMS and reread them before a new one comes out.) religiously and though the movie franchise not as much, I still wanna watch my characters in live action! HP 6 Half-Blood Prince was slotted for a November 21 release but Warner Bros had something else in mind: MONEY MONEY MONEY. My gosh, because they thought that releasing it NEXT JULY 2009 would be more profitable and the crap reason that the writers' strike affected them much, THEY MOVED THE RELEASE DATE 8 MONTHS LATER. OMG, what the CRAP??! Fans are also stark raving mad about this and just go over to slashfilm, etc and their posts will be filled with bashes from the fans. Some even think of boycotting the movie! I wouldn't go as far as that since I am too curious and too much of a fan to miss it. It just sucks since we've been waiting since 2006 for a new movie and we're gonna get it 3 years late. Sighs.. the actors are getting old guys!!
But good news for twilight peepz!! Twilight bumps into Harry's release date and Bolt (disney's new doggie movie) grabs it too. I know that Twilight has a huge fanbase too (well I'm not a fan, but I did like some of the books) because of Edward Cullen and Jacob Black (does anybody like Bella? UGH I DON'T) so definitely, a good news for them fans. I'm a bit happy I guess, I can now see whether Robert Pattinson does the job well or not because if he doesn't, HE IS IN SO MUCH TROUBLE!
I've started a list of to-watch-films since I want to remind myself to watch other great films, some of them aren't playing here in the Philippines so I better download them myself or something. I'm trying to develop this love for Indie Filsm ever since I saw Little Miss Sunshine. That was simply beautiful. Nice!
Some films to watch out for are Coraline (GREAT MINIATURES!)
I had a different Coraline in mind though..
Neil Gaiman has such a wonderful imagination, how will they do this on the big screen? can't wait!! =)
WATCHMEN (My gosh, they sound like a Meaner and more bad-ass X-Men, Watch Trailer Pls)
Official Watchmen Trailer
Kick-Ass (very very violent stuff by Mark Miller about a 15 YR OLD BOY. really interesting)
oohh perfect casting!! =)
I'm currently downloading some senseless games to pass time. You know, games in theme with Diner Dash and all. My current favorite has got to be doggie dash because you can wash and groom pets! LOLZZ haha. Am really crazy now. @_@ Well guess I better go!! hehe =)
In case you can't read Chinese, thank you! Haha, my grammar absolutely sucks, well not exactly sure if it's called grammar, but the structure anyway sucks because I haven't practiced my Chinese in a really long while. Not since I've graduated from high school that is and also because of the past teaching system my high school used, I didn't get much except for more memorizations. @_@ but I'm trying to bring my chinese heritage back. I'm really trying to.
Just to give you guys a gist of what I was saying, you guys recognize the most famous character (well I think) of the Chinese language right? Well it's love. I guess because of the countless queries of people who want to know what love is in Chinese, we would normally write this down to you. But is love. So just wonder why I'm talking about love. =)
I just recently watched Wall*e and IT DIDN'T DISAPPOINT. I don't think it's enough to be a contender for Best Picture *avoids rotten apples being thrown* because I just have this feeling of... I don't know. It's just me. Anyway I loved this little picture because Wall*e is just so adorable! I've never felt love for a little robot before. I mean the way he treated Eve-a (he calls her that) despite his gullible thinking was full of sincerity. I just can't help but stutter an awww in between scenes. Pixar has definitely done it again! EEPPP!! I'm left speechless here. This is definitely a 10/10 movie for me. Definitely!
Urgh, the past week was sort of a mini-hell week for me, what with the CS computer project (my Ten Stars Hotel! Anybody wanna try it out? hehe PM me! It's java program so you need BlueJ for it to work), Math Long Test4, Lit Midterms, English feature article and next week, CS midterms and Lit long paper. College has never been better noh? NOT. All I can say is I am NOT recognizing math long test 4. IT NEVER HAPPENED. Because of the disaster I made, I am not even considering it existed.
Reminds me of the time I broke the cupholder while searching for our seats in the movie theatre of Wall*E... OOPS! That also didn't happen. My bag (laptop) didn't just hit it with great impact causing the WHOLE CUPHOLDER, to be destroyed and fall to the ground.
I've also been hanging around CompSat forum, my home organization's forum and it's just so interesting to get to know my upper batches! I hopefully understant why I'm in my course Computer Science in the first place and if I really like/enjoy it here. I hope I do... maybe my fickle mind would do something drastic... sobs... but here's a little secret I'm letting you all in...i really...really...like....to...be...a.... VOICE ACTRESS! Of any pixar/disney films. Maybe it's a ridiculous idea, a crazy idea but I love to do weird accents and dialogues and I like to make people laugh. I try to and this is one SAFE way to do it. And I like talking anyway if I'm in the mood. Urgh... it'll just be a dream... =(
Well I think this is it. I'll post more movie/techie news when I see something interesting..
These were all my reactions to the opening of Beijing Olympics 2008. I missed the first 10 minutes of the show but I didn't care because I was already BLOWN AWAY by the lights, choreography, sounds and the intensity of all these elements harmonizing with each other. OMG, I have never seen anything like it. I even have no idea how to describe some performances because, I honestly have never see anything...as beautiful or intricate or complicated or aesthetic as what director Zhang Yimou has choreographed. Honestly, you have to watch it to believe it. Unfortunately, all the Youtube videos about the Beijing Olympics opening have been removed so I can't show you any clips... sobs.. I'll try to find some videos though.
The performance depicted the thousands year old history of China, highlighting the 4 greatest inventions of China. 2008 musicians and 25000 performers graced the arena through dancing, acrobating, singing, etc with spectacular pyrotechnics (OMG GRABE UNG FIREWORKS!! WHOA SUPERB!) Here are some pics
These pictures I say do NOT do justice as to how beautiful it looked. I say, catch a replay and WATCH it. Swear, your 2 hour watch wouldn't be wasted. I have never been more proud in my life to be a Chinese. China has delivered an astounding performance and the next Olympics host will have to work their arses off to be as good or to surpass what China did today. I feel like China practically shoved in US's faces the power of China's economy now. Man, I wish I were there at Beijing. This experience would have been surreal. Timm's mom must have been so HAPPY! urgh!! =)
我是中國人!
Yey! I can finally type chinese characters here! Thanks to Apple! Now I gotta watch the games... yey!

Reaching the Impossible Dream
*For some reason Scribefire doesn't work so I can't post youtube vids.. sobs*
Impossible Dream: GETTING AN A in Math/English/Computer
This week is supposedly an introduction to Ateneo's start of Hell week. I think every university has their own Hell Weeks but I think Hell weeks only happen because students will it up to be. We can't help it. Students really CRAM (i do!!) and therefore they only have limited time to do this humongous stack of homework. I tried to be a model student, try to do things ahead of time but I still can't help feel that I'm still cramming. Maybe it's because for once, I actually am studying Math and Computer. I have to pick up my book and notes and solve problems one after the other and this takes time. Surely, a college student's time is not enough.
This is my reaction to yesterday's Midterm exam and last Tuesday's Long Test. I scored a B (decent! yes! but still not what I expected.. grumbles!) on the Long test and I'm quite happy that I'm inching my way up. But last night's midterms is another matter. Let's not talk about it anymore. I'll just do what I normally do and hope for the best and expect the worst. URGHH..
Gosh, getting an A in English is hard. I mean I've only gotten 1 A, B+ and 3 Bs, please see my effort ma'm! I really love English and I hope please that I get a higher grade than B in the coming weeks. I like writing, please don't let me dislike it.
In other news.. a lot of happenings in the movie world!
Both Warner Bros and Disney released their teaser trailers of their upcoming movies specifically "Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince" and "The Princess and the Frog". - news from TheMovieBlog
I can't wait for both movies! The Harry Potter movie franchise may have butchered (in a way) the novels but the movies actually keep getting better and better! I loved Movie 4 out of the lot (biased coz book 4 is my fave) and I hope this one keeps up. It's so nice to see a young Voldy! I must say the nephew of Ralph Fiennes looks the part (and he's cute!!) and does a nice little Voldy impression but this isn't enough to know if the movie will suck or not. The movie seems darker than usual. It has to coz _____!! Spoilers! haha :haha See the trailer for yourself
When Disney announced that they were going back to their traditional roots of 2D, I was ecstatic! I can't wait for another film like The Lion King or Littler Mermaid! I simply loved their animation and was excited what Disney could do this time. After seeing the teaser, I was a bit apprehensive. The heroine didn't sound like any of the heroines of Disney and I didn't like her accent for a minute there (am not against anybody mind you) but I still have hopes for this. Randy Newman (he did the music for toy story! a bug's life! more!) wrote the music and the creators of the Living Mermaid are behind it. I'm still staying positive. What extremely disturbed me was the firefly having teeth. I saw a few commented on the weirdness of this predicament and I couldn't help laughing at how funny it was once you notice the teeth! lolz! really hilarious. Watch!
I also want to share with you guys this vid. This video of a lion cub adopted by 2 American teens 30 years ago sparked the animal lover in me again. It just tears me up whenever I see the love between humans and animals. I know animals have spirits, they can understand us sometimes too, and they are the ones who really love unconditionally. I really want to build a wildlife preserve someday in Africa or South America. I'll do that... someday.. Go watch! Now I want a lion cub...
I told ya about moving to a condo right? OMG My parents allowed me! I'll be rooming with Jinny (it's hers! hehe) and her blockmate for a month to see if it really does cut expenses. I don't know whether to be happy or sad. I know I'm going to experience homesickness, I love home after all! Sighs.. I'll be moving tomorrow night =) haha!
Well I guess I'll post again sometime next week. Next agenda... Computer project and Filipino paper! Adieu! =)

I decided I'd make a history for my site so that you'd all know the whys and the hows. I will elaborate further when I have my REAL site one day. So when did this "addiction" start? Well it was many years ago (maybe not THAT many, about 2-3 years ago) when my keypal Kelli (HI KELLI!) told me to check out this thing. It turned out to be a xanga blog and I was intrigued but I wasn't interested in making one. After a year though, exactly on October 29, 2004, I came across Kelli's blog again and had a sudden itch to try it out. I signed up in xanga and wrote my very first entry. My URL was http://xanga.com/jynxypanda and it's still alive! Check it out if you want, I've transformed it into a photoblog of some sort. I started out with this PLAIN red and black template and of course, I eventually got bored with it. I then searched for skins both in createblog and blogskins. I was happy with xanga but then I saw Steph's new blog in blogger. I was amazed at her skills already in making layouts and HTML so I asked tips from her and then I started my blogger account. This was the time I started getting interested in HTML. Steph also referred to me Lissaexplains.com for tutorials and I researched on my own by reading this gigantic HTML manual at our house. I learned the basics and soon I was editing layouts. I wasn't much of a layout changer so Thief's Stolen Collections survived with only 2 premade layouts. Soon, I was getting BORED with premade layouts. I decided to practice my photoshop skills and make my own like Steph. At first, my layout was supposed to be a panda under cherry blossoms on a starry night EXCEPT the background image I used was copyrighted to kagaya.com only hence I wasn't able to use it. It was a beautiful layout for me though because I loved the violet colors and the panda. It took me a VERY LONG time to finish it but all my efforts proved to be in vain. The spark of making a layout vanished and was just recently revived. I was determined to make one and Winnie the Pooh came to my mind. Why Winnie the Pooh? I have no idea. Maybe it was because of him being a bear but anyways, Winnie the Pooh sounded good and voila!
PAST LAYOUTS
POOH'S PARADISE V.1
Born on: June 26, 2005
Well this was my very 1st layout so pardon for the childish image. It took me a very long time to think of what image to use. Winnie the Pooh just suddenly came to my mind and before I knew it, my hands were working on their own and this is the result! It lasted me for 5 months and I'm happy. =)
STARING UNDER THE SKY
Born on: Dec. 27, 2005
This is my 2nd layout featuring a vectorized (my first vector! Not too good..) bird (i'm not sure the species) on a branch staring under the velvet (violet) sky. When I was thinking of a new layout, I wanted it to have a touch of Christmas but not in the commercial way (gifts, lights etc). I wanted to show the true meaning of Christmas and I also wanted a layout that would last me for months (I'm a lazy bum.. hehe). Inspiration struck when our English teacher asked us to make a Korean Sijo (in English that is) and what i wrote about was a bird anticipating the birth of Christ. Though Christmas has gone, I still wish the feeling of Christmas will continue the whole year. This lasted me for a month (oMG 1 month lang?) but I may use it again. I really liked it! hehe
PINKISH BEAR REALITY
Given on: Jan. 4,2006
Added on: Jan. 27, 2006
This layout was a gift from my adorable online sister, Ate Kitty! Isn't it beautiful? I was really surprised when she gave me this because I didn't know that anyone would go so much trouble for giving me a gift.. wahhz.. Love ya ate! :heart

Now I gotta watch the games... yey!
Adieu! =)

Born on: April 3, 2006 Panda Basking Under the Sun After posting on April 1, 2006 about Global Warming, inspiration struck and I initially thought of making a layout with pandas and polar bears. But I didn't know how to put them together so I just chose to do the Panda. Besides, it's summer so why not let my Panda go on a summer vacation? This layout hopefully gives you the image odf basking under the sun on the beach. Or somewhere tropical. This layout is very dear to me because it features my Panda! =) heehe Well hope you guys like it! =)
